Egypt launches 2025 African space training program, hosting 21 specialists to strengthen satellite technology, collaboration, and Africa’s space sector integration.

The Egyptian Space Agency, in partnership with the African Space Agency and under the oversight of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, inaugurated the 2025 Basic Space Technology Training Grant on January 13, 2025. Hosted at the Space Academy in Cairo, the program welcomed 21 engineers and specialists from 20 African nations, furthering Egypt’s commitment to advancing Africa’s space sector.

Dr. Sharif Siddiqui, Executive President of the Egyptian Space Agency, emphasized the program’s role in sharing Egypt’s expertise and facilities to empower the continent. Since its inception in 2021, the initiative has trained 71 participants from 34 African countries. This year, the training features a hands-on curriculum in satellite technology, offered in English and French, to encourage collaboration and skill development.
