Malawi Prioritizes Digital STEM Learning with MiLab App
MiLab app, developed by Malawi's education ministry, Mzuzu University, and UNDP, enhances STEM learning through virtual experiments, addressing resource gaps.

The Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, has emphasized the transformative potential of the MiLab app in advancing Malawi’s education goals. Speaking on Thursday during a high-level meeting at Mzuzu University, she highlighted the app’s role in aligning with the Malawi 2063 Vision’s Mid-Term Implementation Plan (MIP-1), which prioritizes the digitalization of education resources, including STEM subjects.
Developed through a partnership involving the Ministry of Education, Mzuzu University, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), MiLab provides secondary school students with an engaging, interactive platform to learn scientific concepts and conduct virtual experiments. The app addresses challenges faced by schools lacking physical laboratories and essential resources, offering a practical solution to enhance STEM education.
