MTN, NIMET, and Tomorrow.io partner to launch a mobile weather advisory service, enhancing climate resilience and food security for Nigerian farmers.

On January 24, 2025, MTN, alongside the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and Tomorrow.io, signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a Digital Climate Advisory Services (DCAS) system. This initiative aims to deliver location-specific weather advisories to Nigerian farmers via mobile SMS, enhancing climate resilience in the agricultural sector.

I am optimistic about what this collaboration will do for the agricultural sector, emergency management, and the Nigerian economy as a whole. We are grateful to NiMet for allowing MTN to partner with them.

– Karl Olutokun Toriola, CEO, MTN

This partnership reflects MTN’s commitment to supporting government initiatives and contributing to food security in Nigeria.
