Namibia’s ICT Minister Calls for Urgent Online Consumer Protection Measures
Namibia’s ICT Minister Emma Theofelus urges swift action on online consumer protection, emphasizing EISMAC’s role in implementing the Electronic Transactions Act.

ICT Minister Emma Theofelus says the formulation of an Online Consumer Affairs Committee is an urgent matter for the protection of digital consumers.
Speaking at the Electronic Information System Management Advisory Council (EISMAC) retreat in Windhoek today, Theofelus implored the first members of EISMAC to ensure that the tangible benefits of their work is enjoyed by all Namibians in their daily lives.
EISMAC has been appointed, inaugurated and gazetted, to exercise the powers and perform the functions conferred on and assigned under the Electronic Transactions Act 2019.
