TIC, Pishgaman, and Omantel Sign Landmark Deal to Boost Data Connectivity
Iran, Oman, and Pishgaman sign a data transit agreement to expand capacity, optimize routes, and position Iran as a regional connectivity hub.
Tripartite memorandum of agreement was signed between the CEOs of the TIC Company, Pishgaman Company (from Iran) and Omantel (Oman Telecom Company).
According to TIC’s PR: the aim of the agreement is to strengthen data transit in the northern and southern routes, which is an important step to make Iran a regional data transfer hub.
Based on this agreement the capacity of data to Oman will increase up to 4.5Tbps.
By optimizing existing infrastructure, this project will reduce the time and cost of data transfer between Asia, Middle East and Europe and provide an efficient alternative to longer sea routes.
The partnership with Omantel, one of the leading operators in the Persian Gulf region, will strengthen Iran’s access to international networks through the southern corridor and enable more stable connectivity to global data centers. On the other hand, utilizing Iran’s northern routes will increase the security and diversity of data transmission routes to Europe.
