Algeria and Slovenia advance space collaboration, with SkyLabs selected as a key partner for ASAL’s upcoming satellite constellation missions.

Dejan Gacnik, Technical Director, SkyLabs d.o.o. has announced that productive bilateral meetings were held between the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL), the Slovenian Space Office, and representatives from both nations’ space industries in Algiers to establish a framework for collaboration in space technologies and applications.

A special highlight was the leadership of Ms. Tanja Permozer, Head of the Slovenian Space Office, who represented the Slovenian space sector with a strong vision for the opportunities that arise from both nations. Her presence underscored the commitment to fostering collaboration between Slovenia and Algeria.

I was fortunate to discuss concrete cooperation opportunities with the Algerian Space Agency, focusing on mutual interests in satellite technology with Dr. Mohammed Kameche, Director of the Satellite Development Centre, and Dr. Habib Mahi, Director of the Centre of Technologies at ASAL. We reinforced our cooperation objectives with ASAL’s Director General, Dr. Azzedine Oussedik.

ASAL has identified SkyLabs as a strategic partner for delivering key technologies for their upcoming satellite constellation missions. This bilateral cooperation in space programs between Algeria and Slovenia will soon be formalized through a mutual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), highlighting its strategic importance for both countries.

Moreover, I would like to acknowledge the presence of her Excellency, Ms. Urška Kramberger Mendek Slovenian ambassador in Algeria, who accompanied the Slovenian delegation. Her involvement emphasized the strategic significance of this collaboration.
