AWS to Implement 15% VAT on Services in Ghana from March 2025

February 25, 2025

Author: Joyce Onyeagoro

AWS will charge Ghanaian customers 15% VAT from March 2025, requiring a valid TRN to avoid fees.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) will begin charging a 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) on electronic services for customers in Ghana starting March 1, 2025.

The tax, along with applicable levies, will be collected unless customers provide a valid Tax Registration Number (TRN). AWS will remit all VAT payments to the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Account locations will be determined using billing details, contact addresses, and TRNs, with tax status reflected on the Tax Settings page.
