Government Strengthens SITA Leadership with New Appointment
Willie Vukela joins SITA’s interim board to enhance government IT services, while Prof. Ngcaweni’s term at the National School extends.

The Cabinet has appointed Mr. Willie Vukela, Deputy Director-General for Government Service Access Improvement (GSAI), as an Interim Board member of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). Mr Vukela will be part of the experienced team of experts that will guide SITA toward a prosperous future.
The Minister in the Presidency, Ms Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, announced this during a post-Cabinet media briefing in Cape Town on Thursday.
SITA serves as the IT backbone for the South African government, the country’s largest employer and consumer of IT products and services.
Mr Vukela, with over 17 years of extensive experience, is poised to play a crucial role in modernizing the service delivery model of SITA,
The Cabinet has also extended Prof. Busani Ngcaweni’s employment contract as Director-General of the National School of Government for another five years.
