LG Uplus and Zain KSA Bring AI-Powered Calls to Saudi Arabia
LG Uplus partners with Zain KSA to launch AI-powered ‘ixi-O’ call services in Saudi Arabia, enhancing digital experiences and security.
LG Uplus is collaborating with Zain Group, the largest local telecommunications operator, to advance its AI agent service, ‘ixi-O’, into the Middle East.
LG Uplus and Zain Group signed a business agreement for the global launch of the AI service ‘Ixio’ through MWC25 held in Barcelona, Spain on the 4th (local time). The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both companies, including LG Uplus Consumer Division Head Lee Jae-won and Zain Group CTO Mohammed Abdulaziz AlNujaidi.
Zain Group is a telecommunications operator established in 1983 based in Kuwait, and currently provides telecommunications services in five Middle Eastern countries (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, and Jordan) and three African countries (Morocco, Sudan, and South Sudan).
Through this agreement, LG Uplus will collaborate with Jain Group to launch its AI service, Ixio, in countries where Jain Group provides telecommunications services. Jain Group plans to strengthen its competitiveness in telecommunications services by utilizing AI-based services such as ▲real-time voice phishing detection ▲visible phone ▲call recording and summary ▲provision of post-call search information based on on-device AI provided by Ixio.
As the first step for Ixio’s service to enter the Middle East, LG Uplus plans to collaborate with Zain KSA (Zain Saudi Arabia), which provides telecommunications services in Saudi Arabia. Zain KSA is Saudi Arabia’s third-largest telecommunications operator with 8.7 million customers, and is attempting to integrate Ixio into its telecommunications services in line with the Saudi Arabian government’s AI promotion policy.
LG Uplus plans to develop and provide local customized services by combining the data held by Zain KSA based on its own AI capabilities and Ixio service provision know-how. The two companies plan to continue their collaboration with the goal of launching the Ixio service in Saudi Arabia within the year.
Based on the strengths of Ixio, an AI service that can be used with confidence, we will strive to create synergy with Jain Group in the AI agent service sector. Going forward, LG Uplus plans to collaborate with various global operators to secure differentiated AI service competitiveness and expand this into the global market.

Zain KSA will provide the best customer experience by linking cutting-edge networks and new technologies, and strive to improve digital experiences by leveraging AI in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 project. To this end, we will continue to work with LG Uplus to introduce ixi-O and enable key AI functions, including real-time voice phishing detection, to be available to Saudi Arabian customers.

Meanwhile, LG Uplus launched the Android version of ixi-O on the 3rd (Korean time) and has begun to expand its domestic user base. The Android version of ixi-O, which was first released for Galaxy S25 series customers, has an added ‘AI search’ function that searches for specific place names, locations, and nearby restaurants mentioned in calls and provides information in the form of ‘YouTube Shorts’ in addition to the existing ▲real-time voice phishing detection ▲call recording and summary ▲visible phone ▲answer calls on your behalf functions. LG Uplus plans to continue to expand the terminals to which ixi-O can be applied so that it can be used in other Galaxy models in addition to the Galaxy S25 series.
