Dialing into Change: Nigerian Telcos Eye Regional Tariffs

At PIAFo Lagos, Nigerian telecom operators proposed regional tariffs, arguing state-specific costs make the national pricing model unsustainable.

Multiple reports have confirmed that at the 7th edition of the Policy Implementation Assisted Forum (PIAFo) in Lagos, telecommunications operators in Nigeria discussed a potential shift from the current national tariff structure to a regional pricing model.

The reports further stated industry stakeholders highlighted that operational costs and challenges vary significantly across states, necessitating a more flexible tariff system to address these disparities.
