High Court Suspends South Africa’s Analogue Signal Shutdown, Easing Worries for Millions

The High Court in Pretoria has blocked the government’s planned analogue signal shutdown, offering relief to over 4 million households.

In a major ruling, the High Court in Pretoria has suspended the government’s planned shutdown of analogue television signals, eNCA has reported.

The shutdown was originally set for the end of March. The decision potentially spares over four million South African households from an abrupt loss of access to broadcast services.

The court’s intervention provides temporary relief as the transition.
