Meta’s VP met Ghana’s Minister to discuss AI, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion, strengthening collaboration for Ghana’s digital transformation journey.

The Vice President, Public Policy, Africa, Middle East, and Turkiye at Meta Platforms Inc., Kojo Boakye paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), today, sparking excitement about potential collaborations in Ghana’s digital transformation journey.

The meeting centered around discussions on how Meta can support Ghana’s digital growth, particularly in areas like digital inclusion, innovation and cybersecurity. Given Meta’s expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technologies and the popularity of Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in Ghana, the Minister explored opportunities for cooperation in these fields, similar to Meta’s collaborations with other countries.

The Minister’s emphasis on creating a digitally inclusive economy and promoting youth participation in the digital sector was also a key discussion point.

As Ghana seeks to accelerate its digital transformation and bridge the digital gap, the Minister’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for the growth of the digital sector makes partnerships with tech giants like Meta essential.

Present at the meeting was Sade Dada, Head of Public Policy, Anglophone West Africa
