TechAfrica News and Africa Data Centres Association Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Africa’s Digital Infrastructure

Africa’s digital transformation is accelerating, but the infrastructure to support it—particularly data centres—remains critically underdeveloped. Despite the continent’s growing internet penetration and increasing demand for cloud services, Africa still accounts for less than 1% of the world’s total data centre capacity. This gap presents a major challenge for businesses, governments, and individuals who rely on digital services for economic growth, innovation, and connectivity.
In this regard, TechAfrica News is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Africa Data Centres Association (ADCA), a leading trade organization uniting top data centres across the continent. This strategic collaboration aims to drive education, awareness, and advocacy around the role of data centres in Africa’s digital transformation.
The partnership brings together TechAfrica News’ expertise in media, content creation, and industry engagement with ADCA’s deep-rooted presence in the data centre sector. Together, both organizations aim to highlight the pivotal role of data centres in Africa’s digital transformation while offering valuable opportunities for education, advocacy, and industry engagement.
A Unified Commitment to Africa’s Digital Growth
Through this MOU, TechAfrica News and ADCA will collaborate on a range of initiatives designed to amplify the conversation around Africa’s digital infrastructure. The partnership will focus on content creation and awareness through the regular publication of articles, reports, and insights exploring data centre trends, technological advancements, and the continent’s ongoing digital transformation. ADCA members will also gain access to exclusive promotional opportunities within TechAfrica News’ extensive industry platform.
Education will play a key role in this collaboration, with both parties jointly organizing webinars, workshops, and events that highlight the critical role of data centres in building Africa’s digital economy. Industry events will also be a major component, as TechAfrica News and ADCA co-host and participate in leading conferences dedicated to data centres and digital transformation. Beyond content and events, the partnership will strengthen advocacy and industry representation by working closely with policymakers, businesses, and the wider public to highlight the essential role of data centres in Africa’s economic development. By uniting their expertise and reach, TechAfrica News and ADCA aim to shape the narrative around digital infrastructure and drive meaningful progress for the industry.
Strengthening Industry Collaboration
“This partnership is a significant step in our mission to spotlight Africa’s digital progress. Data centres are the backbone of digital transformation, and through our collaboration with ADCA, we aim to amplify the conversation, bringing key insights to our readers and stakeholders across the continent. I strongly believe that fostering industry exchange within Africa, for Africa and by Africa, is crucial to accelerating progress”
