Ghana approves tech neutrality for MTN and directs NCA to allocate more spectrum to Telecel, boosting national telecom capacity.

Multiple reports have confirmed that Ghana’s  Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, has unveiled fresh regulatory moves aimed at boosting telecom performance in the country.

According to the reports, among the key developments is the approval of technology neutrality for MTN Ghana, a decision that enables the operator to optimise its current spectrum for improved service delivery.

The reports further stated that in a related move, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has been instructed to offer additional spectrum to Telecel Ghana, further expanding the company’s capacity to meet growing consumer demand.

These actions signal a renewed commitment to strengthening Ghana’s digital infrastructure and ensuring a more competitive telecom environment.
