Zimbabwe Cabinet Approves Nationwide Presidential Internet Scheme
Zimbabwe’s cabinet has approved a national internet rollout using LEO satellites and fibre, targeting 2400 wards and public institutions.
The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services ,Zimbabwe has announced that the cabinet has approved implementation of the Presidential Internet Scheme.
With the provisions of the Thematic Area on Digital Economy of NDS1, the scheme aims to provide reliable broadband internet Connectivity targeting all the 2400 administrative wards nationwide.
This initiative will employ advanced Low Earth Orbit satellite technology and fibre optic infrastructure to ensure comprehensive coverage in schools, Information Centres, Police Stations, Health Institutions, Traditional Leaders’ homesteads, Agriculture Extension Offices, Courts,
