NetOne partners with AST SpaceMobile to introduce satellite-powered 5G, expanding high-speed mobile internet access across Zimbabwe, including remote areas.

Mobile network operator NetOne  has entered a landmark partnership with US-based satellite telecom firm AST SpaceMobile  to introduce 5G connectivity to its subscribers in Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Independent has reported.

This development potentially marks a significant step in enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure and positions NetOne at the forefront of next-generation mobile technology in the region.

The agreement can extend high-speed, low-latency broadband coverage to even the most remote parts of Zimbabwe using AST SpaceMobile’s satellite-based 5G capabilities.
