Airtel Uganda Expands Connectivity with New Masts in Eastern Region
Airtel Uganda commissions new 4G masts in Eastern Uganda to improve connectivity, boost digital inclusion, and support local economic growth.

Airtel Uganda, through its nationwide launch of new masts, officially commissioned upgraded and newly installed masts in Eastern Uganda, in partnership with district leadership in Soroti, Tororo, and Bugiri. The events were held at Asuret Sub-County Offices in Soroti and Kointario Primary School in Malaba, Tororo District.
Since becoming a 100% 4G network in 2019 and rebranding from “A Smartphone Network” to “A Reason to Imagine,” Airtel has remained committed to its promise of increasing digital access across Uganda. These new sites are part of efforts to enhance connectivity and empower more Ugandans through digital inclusion, ultimately improving livelihoods and boosting financial growth.
This focus on financial digital inclusion was emphasized by Mr. Wongani Muthiya, Growth Markets Director, who represented Mr. Soumendra Sahu, Managing Director of Airtel Uganda. Mr. Muthiya highlighted Airtel’s commitment to supporting the economic aspirations of Soroti’s youthful and growing population through improved connectivity.
We believe this partnership will support the community, especially the agricultural sector. Thank you for having us here — and please, do not share your Airtel Money PIN with anyone.
