Assala Welcomes 5G Future Through Strategic Partnership with Ethio Telecom

Ethio Telecom’s 5G rollout and district office launch in Assala aim to drive smart city services, investment, tourism, and digital growth.

ethio telecom ‘s management, led by the CEO, Freilife Tamru, held a discussion with the mayor and officials of the Assala City Administration and visited the development works being carried out in the city.

During the discussion, the CEO stated that the 5G mobile network implemented in the city is enabling Smart City and other development projects to be carried out and will increase global competitiveness by making Assala City convenient and preferable for investment, tourism and its residents.

He also emphasized that the company has opened an office at the district level to serve closely with understanding the growth of the city and the needs of its customers; that in order to digitize the services of the city administration, the implementation of payments such as water services in Telebr in the past has been encouraging, and that we should work together on ways to streamline taxes and other payments, and that the construction of an infrastructure corridor in the ongoing corridor development of the city should be carried out in better coordination.

On his part, the Mayor of Assala City Administration, Mr. Smee Tsegaye, said Assala is one of the fastest growing cities, adding that Ethio Telecom understands this and expresses sincere gratitude for launching a 5G network in the city and opening its office at the district level.

He assured that in the future, they will continue to work together to digitize service delivery and make the city convenient and preferable to its residents. He called on the administration to contribute to the development works initiated to make the city safe and preferable for investment, tourism and its residents.
