Ethio Telecom Launches 2 Million Smartphone Drive for Digital Inclusion
Ethio Telecom will provide 2 million smartphones annually on long-term plans, targeting low-income rural users to boost digital inclusion.

Ethio telecom is set to provide 2 million smartphones on long-term payment plans to ensure digital inclusion. To ensure inclusion by increasing smartphone penetration and supporting digital skill development, the company has prepared an initiative, ready for implementation, to provide 2 million phones a year to citizens at affordable prices through long-term payment plans.
Within this initiative, the company, in partnership with Siinqee Bank, will provide smartphones with an annual budget of 4 billion Birr through long-term payment plans specifically for low-income individuals and community members residing in rural areas.
Ethio Telecom will continue to implement similar efforts with other partners to ensure digital and financial inclusion and enable citizens to benefit from the digital economy.
It is recalled that Ethio telecom, in partnership with Siinqee Bank, launched mobile financial and device financing services totaling 15 billion Birr.
