Federal High Court confirms ARCON’s legal authority to regulate advertising content across social media, digital, print, and broadcast platforms nationwide.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ruled that the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON ) has the legal authority to regulate advertising content across all platforms, Punch Newspaper has reported.

According to the report, the court affirmed ARCON’s powers extend to social media, digital channels, print, and broadcast media, reinforcing its mandate to oversee advertising standards in Nigeria.

This judgment potentially solidifies ARCON’s role in maintaining ethical and professional conduct in the advertising industry, regardless of the medium used.
