Facebook and Instagram at Risk in Nigeria Amid Regulatory Clash

Meta may shut down Facebook and Instagram in Nigeria after losing a court case over heavy fines and regulatory demands.

Access to Facebook and Instagram in Nigeria may be at risk following a dispute between Meta and Nigerian authorities, BBC  has reported.

According to the report, Meta has cited the threat of large fines and what it described as “unrealistic” regulatory demands as key concerns.

BBC further stated that the company recently lost a legal challenge against these regulatory decisions in the federal high court in Abuja.
