Safaricom partners with Quickmart, enhancing access to 4G and 5G home internet, while introducing self-service router activation for convenience.

Safaricom  has partnered with leading retailer Quickmart  to bring its 4G and 5G for Home internet solutions closer to customers, enhancing accessibility and convenience for households seeking fast and reliable connectivity.

To improve the customer journey, Safaricom has also introduced self-service router activation, making it easier for customers to set up their routers post-purchase. With this enhancement, customers can simply scan a QR code to register the SIM card and activate their account, purchase a package, and immediately begin enjoying internet access.

In line with our purpose of transforming lives, we are continuously innovating to provide our customers with the best connectivity solutions. This partnership will ensure that more Kenyans can access reliable home internet with ease, reinforcing our promise of seamless connectivity and great value.

– Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer, Safaricom PLC

The partnership with Quickmart, which boasts 61 outlets across the country, will make it possible for customers to conveniently purchase 4G or 5G routers in locations closer to them, empowering them to enjoy seamless and worry-free home internet.

We are excited to collaborate with Safaricom to offer our customers easy access to high-speed internet solutions. This partnership aligns with our goal to provide convenience and value to Kenyans by making essential services readily available at our stores.

– J. Thuku, CCO, Quickmart

In addition to Quickmart outlets, customers can also purchase the 4G and 5G routers, which both retail for KES 2,999, at Safaricom Retail Shops, authorized Safaricom dealers, and online via Masoko.co.ke. Plans are underway to partner with more retailers across the country.

With Safaricom’s 4G network covering over 97% of Kenya’s population and its growing 5G network now available in all 47 counties, its 4G and 5G for home internet solutions now enable customers in areas outside fibre coverage to enjoy seamless internet connectivity in their homes.

Increasing demand for home internet has also seen Safaricom continue to optimize its fibre network capacity, upgrade Home Fibre speeds at no extra cost, and conduct home service clinics nationwide, all to enhance the experience.

These initiatives are part of the technology company’s efforts to engage with customers and partners as it gears up to celebrate 25 years of operations in the market.
