Ericsson showcased 5G innovations and engaged stakeholders at Egypt 5G Forum, emphasizing digital transformation, connectivity, and regulatory collaboration.

Ericsson  showcased its latest technological innovations and explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration across the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) ecosystem at the Egypt (5G) Forum, organized by Moharram & Partners, held in Cairo on the 19th of May 2025.

In collaboration with the Embassy of Finland in Cairo, the Embassy of Japan in Cairo, the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, the Embassy of the United States of America in Cairo, and the European Union Delegation to Egypt, the event aimed to unite the full spectrum of stakeholders behind a shared vision for regional digital transformation.

The high-level gathering was attended by top-level executives from the telecom industry in Egypt, government officials, communication service providers, as well as high level executives in Egypt.

The one-day program featured five engaging panel discussions on critical topics surrounding 5G technology with the participation of several experts from Ericsson.

Robert Condon, Head of Government & Policy Advocacy for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Ericsson, spoke about the regulatory challenges and opportunities associated with 5G deployment in Egypt. He highlighted how 5G will propel economic growth, foster a regulatory landscape that attracts international investment, and ensure the establishment of trusted networks. Said Zantout, Head of Core Networks and Network Management at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, examined the transformative benefits of 5G, delved into AI and APIs on how 5G can meet the diverse requirements across various industries and applications, while Zoran Lazarević, Chief Technology Officer at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, highlighted the future-ready solutions that empower service providers to transition seamlessly toward open programable networks and capture new opportunities in Egypt.

At Ericsson, we are dedicated to advancing digital transformation and connectivity across the region through building future-ready networks. The Egypt 5G Forum provided us with a unique platform to engage in meaningful dialogues around key industry topics. This collaborative event not only enabled us to showcase our innovative technologies but also served as an important first step toward deeper cooperation with international partners on 5G and cybersecurity initiatives.
