Camtel and Chad's telecom ministry discussed internet tariffs, fiber security, and deeper cross-border digital cooperation during a strategic visit.

Camtel  welcomed an official delegation  from Chad, led by Dr. Boukar Michel, Minister of Telecommunications, Digital Economy and Digitalization, to discuss key aspects of digital cooperation between the two nations.

Discussions focused on revising internet service tariffs, enhancing interconnection via the Mbere-Nana link, resolving outstanding payments between Camtel and Sotel-Tchad, and securing the shared fiber optic infrastructure. The agenda also included plans for future deployments to bolster regional connectivity.

The session was officially opened earlier in the day by Cameroon’s Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng. The visit marks a significant step in reinforcing bilateral cooperation for a shared, sustainable digital future.
