MTN South Africa has introduced MoMo Pay, a new digital payment solution under its mobile money platform, MoMo, aimed at empowering informal merchants, multiple reports have confirmed.

Designed for simplicity and affordability, MoMo Pay allows traders to receive payments instantly through QR code, merchant ID, or payment request. The service features a low transaction fee of just 0.5%, making it accessible and scalable for small businesses and informal vendors.

With MoMo Pay, MTN is bridging the gap in digital financial inclusion by offering a practical tool for secure, fast, and cost-effective transactions.
