Bayobab Boosts Uganda’s Connectivity with 260km Fibre Network
Bayobab Uganda launches a 260km high-capacity fibre route, enhancing connectivity, reducing latency, and supporting economic growth and digital transformation.

With the launch of its latest national long-distance fibre connection from Kampala to Malaba, Bayobab Uganda is bolstering the nation’s economic growth.
The 260km fibre network serves as a powerful alternative to existing fibre systems, adding route diversity and improving network reliability across the region. The route offers over 1 Tbps of capacity, delivering fast, affordable internet to businesses and communities.
The network has been extended to major data centres, including Raxio, Airtel House, and the NITA Data Centre, enabling improved capacity, reduced latency, and seamless interconnection options for service providers and hyperscalers. This is also the only fibre system connecting all major data centres and critical MTN infrastructure along its path.
Bayobab Uganda’s latest national long-distance launch supports economic growth and digital transformation, opening new opportunities for partners to invest and operate in Uganda.
