DR Congo Partners with Huawei to Launch Pilot Smart Village Boosting Rural Digital Inclusion

The Democratic Republic of Congo signed a partnership with Chinese tech giant Huawei to launch a pilot smart village aimed at boosting digital access and services in rural areas.

The pilot project will provide high-speed internet, digital training for youth, and link vital public services, including civil registration, healthcare, and education. It forms part of the country’s broader national digital transformation strategy, which seeks to reduce inequality and modernise state institutions.
