Kuwait’s Finance Minister Meets Google Cloud VP to Advance Public Sector Digital Transformation

Her Excellency Eng. Noura Sulaiman Al-Fassam, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, met with Mr. Chris Lindsay, Vice President of Engineering at Google Cloud for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, during his official visit to Kuwait. The meeting reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the State of Kuwait and Google Cloud, focusing on accelerating digital transformation in government agencies.
Discussions centered on the Ministry of Finance’s efforts to modernize its financial systems through cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. As part of this collaboration, the Ministry is working to migrate its systems to Google Cloud, aiming to improve operational efficiency, enhance system integration, and support data-driven decision-making. The initiative is a key component of Kuwait’s broader strategy to build a secure, scalable, and future-ready digital infrastructure for the public sector.
This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to Kuwait Vision 2035, which places digital transformation at the heart of economic reform and public sector modernization. Moving to a secure cloud-based system will not only improve our operational efficiency, but will also enable the creation of a more resilient and transparent government financial system. The Ministry of Finance is one of the first government entities to have its first data migrated to Google Cloud, reflecting our technical readiness and commitment to smart institutional transformation. By leveraging advanced technologies, we are building a foundation for formulating smarter policies and more responsive public services.
