Ethio Telecom Honored as Most Admired Ethiopian Brand at Brand Africa Awards 100

June 3, 2025
2 min read

The awards reflect Ethio Telecom’s continued progress in combining digital innovation with strong corporate social responsibility.

Ethio Telecom  has been recognized with two key distinctions at the 15th Annual Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands Awards. The company was named the most admired Ethiopian brand in telecommunications and the most admired Ethiopian brand doing good for society and the environment.

These honors are part of the continent-wide Brand Africa 100 initiative, which ranks brands based on consumer admiration and impact. The awards reflect Ethio Telecom’s continued progress in combining digital innovation with strong corporate social responsibility.

The 2025 rankings are announced to be based on independent research conducted by GeoPoll and Kantar across 31 African countries, representing more than 85% of Africa’s population and GDP. The study is said to capture spontaneous consumer opinions across categories such as telecommunications, sustainability, and national pride.

Ethio Telecom was recognized not only for its leadership in digital connectivity but also for its visible efforts in supporting environmental protection and inclusive development programs across Ethiopia. The company stood out in a national landscape where only 6% of the top 100 most admired brands are Ethiopian, indicating a highly competitive environment dominated by international names.

The awards ceremony was held at the historic Africa Hall in Addis Ababa in collaboration with African Business magazine and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The event highlighted the role of trusted, high-impact brands in advancing Africa’s industrial and innovation agendas.

The Brand Africa 100 rankings is pronounced to aim to inspire greater investment in African-owned brands by spotlighting those that consistently earn public trust and make meaningful contributions to society.
