MTN South Sudan Launches 2025 ’21 Days of Y’ello Care’ with Focus on Digital Inclusion

June 4, 2025
2 min read

The initiative tackles the ongoing challenges of limited digital access to education, healthcare, and economic resources, which disproportionately affect women, youth, people with disabilities, and displaced individuals.

MTN South Sudan  has officially launched its annual 21 Days of Y’ello Care initiative, which runs from June 1 to 21, 2025, under the theme “Connecting at the Roots.” The employee-led volunteer program aims to address digital exclusion among vulnerable communities, particularly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and underserved populations in Gorom, Terekera, Sherikat, and the Mangaten IDP camp.

The initiative tackles the ongoing challenges of limited digital access to education, healthcare, and economic resources, which disproportionately affect women, youth, people with disabilities, and displaced individuals.

During the 21-day campaign, MTN employees will volunteer their time and expertise to implement key projects such as:

  • Digital literacy workshops

  • Mobile money training for financial inclusion

  • Educational technology installations

  • Connectivity upgrades

“By providing essential digital tools and knowledge, we’re unlocking pathways to education, economic opportunity, and social connection.”

Moses Mayor, Chief of Legal, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, MTN South Sudan.

The initiative is expected to benefit over 3,000 individuals, including the training of local digital champions to ensure long-term community impact.

“Our employees are our greatest asset, and their passion for making a difference is truly inspiring. We believe that by enhancing connectivity and digital literacy, we are empowering communities to build a more connected, prosperous future for South Sudan.”

Maluk Manyok, Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Manager, MTN South Sudan.

This year’s Y’ello Care initiative reflects MTN’s broader mission to promote sustainable development and measurable socio-economic progress across the country.
