Ethio Telecom Unveils Digital Core Banking Platform for MFIs and Cooperatives

Ethio telecom  conducted a workshop with representatives from various microfinance institutions (MFIs) and small credit and savings cooperatives. The event was held under the theme “Empowering Microfinance Institutions”, focusing on the digital transformation of the sector.

During the workshop, the company presented a cloud-powered core banking digital solution aimed at modernizing the operations of microfinance institutions and cooperatives. The solution is designed to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve service delivery.

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to explaining the partnership between Telebirr and MFIs. This session highlighted the progress made in customer service and the collaborative efforts between Telebirr and microfinance institutions. It was noted that digital solutions like Telebirr can significantly increase institutional productivity, modernize operations, and provide secure, user-friendly services for customers.

Representatives from microfinance institutions and small credit and savings cooperatives participated in a survey to provide feedback and insights on the discussed digital tools.

The workshop marked a key initiative in promoting digital innovation and strengthening partnerships within the microfinance sector.
