The seven-story R&D facility currently employs 300 Moroccan engineers, developers, and technicians, with plans to double that figure to 1,000 by 2027

American tech giant Oracle  has officially launched a state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) centre in Casablanca, Morocco, marking a major milestone in the country’s push to become a regional digital leader.

The centre, inaugurated by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, head of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, alongside Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and Oracle Executive Vice President Craig Stephen, specialises in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, big data, and graph processing.

Described by the Prime Minister as part of a broader strategy to inject new momentum into Morocco’s digital economy, the initiative aligns with the “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy and the high royal vision to empower youth, stimulate employment, and accelerate digital transformation across the Kingdom.

“Establishing the Oracle R&D centre in Morocco reinforces that Morocco is a key player in digital innovation. It can compete with global powers thanks to its local talents, skilled youth, and a rapidly maturing ecosystem. Morocco asserts its technological leadership in support of its development and that of the continent.”

– Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.

The seven-story R&D facility currently employs 300 Moroccan engineers, developers, and technicians, with plans to double that figure to 1,000 by 2027. In parallel, Oracle aims to train more than 20,000 Moroccan students across various digital disciplines, helping to build a pipeline of future-ready tech talent.

This cutting-edge hub will not only create high-value jobs but also place Moroccan expertise at the centre of Oracle’s global innovation efforts, designing impactful AI and cloud-based solutions for clients around the world.

“Establishing a new Oracle R&D centre in Morocco reflects our commitment to innovation and inclusion—leveraging the country’s growing tech talent and strategic location to build cutting-edge solutions for Africa, the Middle East, and beyond”

-Craig Stephen, Executive Vice President, Oracle.

With this investment, Morocco is solidifying its role as a digital innovation hub for the continent, blending international expertise with local talent to build a smarter, more connected future.
