TNM, a leader in Malawi’s telecom sector and a pioneer in 3G, 4G, 5G, and digital financial services, says the investment aligns with its ongoing mission to bridge the digital divide and enable better streaming, gaming, browsing, and communication for all Malawians.

Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM)  has announced a major nationwide network upgrade initiative, with a total investment of K16 billion aimed at enhancing connectivity and service quality for millions of users across the country.

The upgrade has seen over 650 sites enhanced nationwide, with significant improvements in key cities such as Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, and Zomba. As a result, TNM now offers faster internet speeds, clearer voice calls, and stronger coverage, extending improved network access to over 400,000 additional Malawians.

Speaking during a press briefing at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, TNM’s Chief Technical Officer, Mr. Lloyd Gowera, said:

“These upgrades will directly benefit both residential and enterprise customers by ensuring the best quality experience in voice and data services, reduced latency, and more consistent coverage in both urban and rural areas across Malawi.”
