TechAfrica News Joins MVNO Nation Africa 2025 as Official Media Partner, Strengthening Focus on Inclusive Mobile Growth

June 25, 2025

Author: Akim Benamara

This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to covering the developments that move the needle—and to bringing them, with depth and clarity, to the wider ecosystem.

At TechAfrica News, our mission is grounded in a clear and enduring commitment: to support the growth of Africa’s digital transformation and champion the voices shaping its future. By staying close to the industries, technologies, and policy shifts that influence connectivity across the continent, we have positioned ourselves as a trusted observer and participant in Africa’s digital evolution.

Among the sectors undergoing notable transformation is the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) space. Across several African markets, MVNOs are increasingly stepping into critical roles—broadening service access, introducing competitive pricing models, and addressing long-standing coverage and affordability gaps. As the sector expands, so does the opportunity to reimagine mobile services with greater precision, flexibility, and reach.

In alignment with this momentum, TechAfrica News is pleased to announce its role as the official media partner for MVNO Nation Africa 2025. Having supported the event in 2024, we are pleased to renew this partnership and continue our engagement with a sector that is both dynamic and deeply relevant to Africa’s connectivity goals. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to covering the developments that move the needle—and to bringing them, with depth and clarity, to the wider ecosystem.

“Partnering with MVNO Nation Africa 2025 is both timely and meaningful for us. As mobile virtual network operators begin to take on a more defined and strategic role in Africa’s telecom ecosystem, the conversations around regulation, commercial models, and service delivery deserve deeper scrutiny. This partnership allows us to document those conversations with the attention they merit—by giving industry leaders a platform not only to be seen, but to be understood in context. Our goal is to connect the dots between policy, innovation, and inclusion, and MVNO Nation Africa is an important space for that kind of work.”

-Akim Benamara, Chief Editor and Founder, TechAfrica News

MVNO Nation Africa 2025 will once again serve as a vital meeting ground for leaders across the mobile virtual network space. Set to take place on 15–16 July 2025 at Mount Nelson, a Belmond Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, the event is designed as a focused environment where mobile virtual network operators, infrastructure providers, regulators, and mobile network operators can forge strategic relationships and exchange operational knowledge.

Over two days, delegates will engage in more than 20 hours of curated content, structured networking, and peer-led dialogue. The agenda is built around real-world challenges and market opportunities specific to the African landscape, where regulatory dynamics, infrastructure gaps, and evolving user expectations shape a uniquely complex environment for MVNOs.

With a strong presence of C-level executives and decision-makers—over 70% of delegates are buyers or senior stakeholders—MVNO Nation Africa remains one of the few events tailored to the strategic priorities of those shaping Africa’s telecom future.

“Partnering with TechAfrica News is a natural fit for MVNO Nation Africa. As one of the most trusted and far-reaching media platforms on the continent, their commitment to connecting the key players shaping Africa’s digital future mirrors our own mission. This partnership not only brings greater visibility to the MVNO movement in Africa but also ensures that the voices of innovators, operators, and disruptors are heard across sectors. Together, we’re helping to accelerate meaningful progress in the region’s telecoms landscape.”

-Ewa Campbell, Co-Founder, MVNO Nation

Panel Engagement: Advancing the Conversation on Rural Connectivity

In addition to TechAfrica News’ media partnership, Founder and Chief Editor Akim Benamara will join the speaker faculty at MVNO Nation Africa 2025 as a panelist in the session titled “Debate: Tapping into Underserved Mobile Markets: How MVNOs Can Expand Reach with Rural Connectivity and NTN.” He will be joined on the panel by Bradley Shaw, Vice President MEA of Lynk Global and together and the session will explore how MVNOs can drive mobile expansion in rural and underserved regions by leveraging innovative models, digital tools, and partnerships with non-terrestrial network providers.
