Egypt Launches Second Edition of Cybersecurity Academy to Train 5,000 Youth and Students
Participants will benefit from interactive lectures, cybersecurity games and challenges, hands-on workshops, and age-appropriate projects designed to enhance digital competence.
The National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has officially launched the second edition of the Cybersecurity Academy for Emergence and Youth, a national initiative aimed at building digital resilience among Egypt’s youth. The program is being organized in collaboration with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the National Center for Computer and Network Emergencies (EG-CERT) and is supported by global tech leaders including Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud Security, F5, Trellix, and MCS.
This year’s academy aims to train 5,000 participants, divided into three age-based groups:
- School students (ages 10–17) – 2,000 participants will be trained on safe internet practices and digital awareness.
- University students – 2,000 participants will receive technical and freelance skills training to prepare them for digital careers.
- Graduates of universities and institutes – 1,000 participants will undergo advanced technical and hands-on cybersecurity training in collaboration with sponsoring companies, supporting entry into the labor market.
The first phase, targeting school students aged 10–17, will be held across 10 governorates: Greater Cairo, Alexandria, Menoufia, Mansoura, Benha, Fayoum, Port Said, Assiut, Qena, and Aswan.
The program is completely free of charge, with group transport provided from central collection points in selected regions. Participants will benefit from interactive lectures, cybersecurity games and challenges, hands-on workshops, and age-appropriate projects designed to enhance digital competence.
A key highlight of this year’s edition is the awarding of accredited academic certificates—a first for the academy—further validating participants’ new skills and knowledge.
The Cybersecurity Academy for Emergence and Youth represents Egypt’s largest national effort to empower young people with the tools to navigate and thrive in a secure digital environment. Applications for the first phase are now open.
