As part of this partnership, a nationwide digital event will take place from September 1st to 4th, 2025, aiming to highlight the potential and creativity of Nigerian youth.

In a significant step toward expanding global opportunities for young Nigerians, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development  has announced a strategic collaboration with GITEX Global,  one of the world’s largest platforms for technology and innovation.

As part of this partnership, a nationwide digital event will take place from September 1st to 4th, 2025, aiming to highlight the potential and creativity of Nigerian youth. A total of 300 high-potential startups will be selected from across the country for international visibility, partnership opportunities, and scale-up support.

This initiative builds on the foundation of the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA), launched by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is already training over 7 million young people in digital skills and entrepreneurship. With 210,000+ enrollees and Green House Centres set to launch across all 774 local government areas, NiYA is accelerating the digital empowerment of Nigeria’s grassroots youth population.

The program is also proposing a GITEX Youth Local Showcase Series – Powered by NiYA, designed to bridge local innovation with international tech ecosystems, including GITEX Africa and GITEX Global.

The announcement was made following a high-level meeting that included Dr. Inuwa Kashifu Abdullahi, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), highlighting strong inter-agency collaboration in advancing Nigeria’s digital future.

The initiative underscores the government’s growing investment in youth-focused innovation and digital transformation, aimed at positioning Nigeria as a global technology and entrepreneurship leader.
