Liquid Intelligent Technologies Honoured for Driving Connectivity and Innovation Across Zambia
Liquid Intelligent Technologies was commended for its substantial contribution to this progress, having deployed over 5,000 kilometers of fiber optic infrastructure across Zambia.

Liquid Intelligent Technologies has hosted a landmark event under the theme “Celebrating Customer Excellence and Technological Advancement in Zambia”, spotlighting both the company’s achievements and the growing impact of digital transformation across the country. The event brought together industry leaders, government officials, partners, and innovators to recognize progress in digital infrastructure and service delivery, while also acknowledging the challenges that have shaped this journey.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Chipota Mutati, Permanent Secretary Eng. Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu emphasized the transformative power of connectivity. Sharing the story of a young entrepreneur from a rural area near Mansa, he illustrated how access to digital tools—enabled by Liquid’s infrastructure—has empowered grassroots innovation. The young businesswoman launched a digital payment platform for market vendors, which now serves thousands of users, underscoring how technology is driving inclusion and economic opportunity even in remote communities.
Dr. Habeenzu highlighted the broad impact of digital innovation across Zambia, citing fintech startups in Lusaka, agritech solutions in Chipata, and youth-led enterprises in Kitwe and Ndola as examples of the vibrant ecosystem taking shape. He affirmed that these developments are aligned with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision for an innovation-led, inclusive digital economy.
Government efforts to bridge the digital divide were also outlined, including the Smart Zambia initiative, which has digitized over 80 public services for more than 3 million citizens. Other initiatives such as the Digital Transformation Change Management Strategy (2023–2026), tax incentives for ICT investors, expansion of fiber networks, and free Wi-Fi pilot zones in over 100 underserved communities are contributing to Zambia’s growing digital footprint.
Zambia’s startup ecosystem is also gaining momentum, with over 150 new digital enterprises registered in the past year. Notably, 65% are youth-led and 31% are led by women, demonstrating the inclusive nature of the country’s tech growth.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies was commended for its substantial contribution to this progress, having deployed over 5,000 kilometers of fiber optic infrastructure across Zambia. The company’s investments in cloud infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and digital education were specifically acknowledged, including its ongoing collaboration with the government to connect schools to the internet and enrich the learning environment for students.
As the country continues its digital journey, the Ministry of Technology and Science reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing a thriving digital economy. This includes sustained investment in STEM education, support for public-private innovation hubs, and targeted efforts to ensure that women, youth, and rural populations are not left behind in the digital revolution.
The event was a celebration not only of technological advancement, but of the people and communities driving Zambia’s digital future.
