Algeria Moves to Digitise Legalised Document Delivery via Postal Network
The new service enables citizens to submit documents requiring legalisation at post offices, track them digitally throughout the processing stages at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and receive the final legalised documents through Algérie Poste’s secure delivery system

Algeria has taken a key step toward digitising its public service processes with the signing of a framework agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Algérie Poste. The agreement outlines plans to establish a new tech-enabled postal service for the secure handling and distribution of legalised documents.
The signing ceremony was jointly chaired by the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, M. Sid Ali Zerrouki, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib. It was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Algiers.
Under the agreement, citizens will eventually be able to submit documents requiring legalisation at post offices, with the ability to track their status digitally through each stage—from submission and processing by the relevant civil status departments to final delivery.
Minister Zerrouki said the initiative reflects a broader drive to modernise Algeria’s postal services. He also emphasised the importance of aligning postal sector reforms with Algeria’s national digital transformation strategy, including the development of e-payment and e-commerce capabilities.
The service will be built on a secure logistics framework and adhere to administrative standards to ensure safe and reliable document handling.
