Côte d’Ivoire’s Digital Sovereignty Takes Shape with New Data Center
This central facility is set to create a dynamic digital ecosystem that will support the development of smarter, faster, and more inclusive e-government services.
Construction on Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious “Digital City” project officially began in May, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s drive to expand connectivity, modernize government services, and accelerate its digital transformation. Cybastion , a key partner in the initiative, announced the commencement of the project.
The Digital City is envisioned as an innovative digital hub, with a sovereign data center at its core. This central facility is set to create a dynamic digital ecosystem that will support the development of smarter, faster, and more inclusive e-government services. Beyond public services, the hub will also foster innovation centers aimed at boosting entrepreneurship, driving job creation, and contributing significantly to the local economy. A crucial component of the project is also the equipping of young people with essential tech skills, thereby building a skilled digital workforce for the future.
The initial phase of the project is focused on the construction of the data center, which Cybastion highlights as a cornerstone of the country’s digital sovereignty.
Cybastion, through strategic partnerships with the Ivorian government and various U.S. stakeholders, is playing a pivotal role in helping to build a sustainable, secure, and innovative digital ecosystem for the region. This development is expected to have a profound impact on Côte d’Ivoire’s digital landscape and its broader economic and social development.
