Telkom Unveils Bold New Brand Identity for Digital-First Era

July 22, 2025
2 min read

The rebranding marks a major milestone for the telecoms giant as it aims to stay relevant in an increasingly digital, mobile-first world.

Telkom  has officially launched a refreshed and modernised brand identity, introducing a dynamic new version of its iconic “T” logo. The rebranding marks a major milestone for the telecoms giant as it aims to stay relevant in an increasingly digital, mobile-first world. Moving beyond a simple logo change, Telkom describes the shift as a cultural movement designed to reflect South Africa’s evolving identity and digital aspirations.

The new look incorporates vibrant colours and a more energetic design language, positioning Telkom as both bold and inspiring. The redesigned “T” is meant to symbolise connection, dynamism, and a forward-thinking mindset, aligning with the brand’s new message: “Possible Begins Here.” Telkom says the visual refresh pays homage to its deep legacy while reintroducing the brand to a generation of South Africans looking for modern, accessible, and engaging digital services.

To bring the new identity to life, Telkom is launching a series of creative activations across the country. These include immersive pop-up experiences in major cities where consumers can interact with the brand in new and engaging ways. The company has also enlisted a diverse group of cultural influencers and creatives—such as DJ Zinhle, Lasizwe, Sibu Mpanza, Zizo Beda, and others—to act as brand ambassadors. These figures will serve as the face of the campaign, bringing their own stories and communities into the narrative.

This brand refresh builds on recent milestones for Telkom, including the achievement of 20 million mobile subscribers and innovative campaigns such as the UNISA origami projection. These moments underscore Telkom’s continued relevance and ambition within South Africa’s fast-evolving digital ecosystem.

According to Telkom, the rebrand isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s a statement of intent—an invitation to all South Africans to dream, connect, and grow through technology. As part of this ongoing transformation, Telkom has promised more updates, experiences, and content to further engage the public and bring its new identity to life on the ground and online.
