The Wave Money Group delegation, led by Awa GUEYE BA, Regional Director of Public Policy, expressed a keen interest in collaborating with the Ministry to significantly bolster digital and financial inclusion across Burkina Faso.

The Ministry of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications in Burkina Faso hosted a working session on Thursday, July 24, 2025, with a delegation from Wave Money Group . The meeting, held in Ouagadougou and chaired by Technical Advisor Saidou YANOGO, focused on exploring avenues for a strategic partnership between the Ministry and the prominent mobile money provider. This engagement builds upon an initial meeting held several months prior.

The Wave Money Group delegation, led by Awa GUEYE BA, Regional Director of Public Policy, expressed a keen interest in collaborating with the Ministry to significantly bolster digital and financial inclusion across Burkina Faso.

Technical Advisor Saidou YANOGO conveyed his gratitude to the representatives of Wave Money Group for their focus on Burkina Faso and, particularly, for their readiness to support the initiatives of the Ministry of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications.

Regarding the scope of cooperation, Awa GUEYE BA, on behalf of Wave Money Group, sought a more structured partnership. This would enable her organization to contribute more effectively to financial inclusion and education within Burkina Faso. Notably, Wave Money Group expressed its desire to participate in the Digital Week, an annual event organized by the Ministry.

Wave Money Group currently operates in five regions of Burkina Faso, boasting over one million users for its services, which include money transfers, communication credit payments, and bill payments. The company also plans to conduct awareness campaigns to equip the Burkinabe population with the knowledge and tools to better secure and manage their financial transactions and digital tools.

Technical Advisor Saidou YANOGO reiterated his appreciation for Wave Money Group’s proactive initiative and proposed engaging in joint discussions to outline the specifics of the prospective partnership. The proposals resulting from these exchanges will subsequently be presented to the Ministry’s senior officials for evaluation.
