This launch positions TNM as a pioneer in next-generation mobile technology in Malawi, promising ultra-fast internet speeds and improved network performance for both individual and enterprise users.

Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM)  has officially activated its 5G network in the capital city, Lilongwe, ushering in a new era of high-speed connectivity for the country. This launch positions TNM as a pioneer in next-generation mobile technology in Malawi, promising ultra-fast internet speeds and improved network performance for both individual and enterprise users.

The initial rollout covers several key areas across Lilongwe, including BICC, Area 9, Kang’ombe, Area 47 ABC, Area 49 Mvama, Kamuzu Central Hospital, Kanengo, Capital Hill, and the BNS Stadium, among others. Residents and businesses in these zones can now access 5G services, enabling faster downloads, smoother streaming, and enhanced support for emerging technologies such as IoT and mobile gaming.

By introducing 5G, TNM aims to accelerate Malawi’s digital transformation and create opportunities for innovation in sectors like healthcare, education, and commerce. The company’s strategic investment in next-generation infrastructure underscores its commitment to maintaining leadership in the nation’s telecommunications industry.
