The meeting signals a mutual desire to bolster bilateral relations, particularly in the strategic digital sector.

Gabon’s Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization and Innovation , Mr. Mark Alexandre Doumba, recently held a significant audience with His Excellency Mr. Can conomiencesu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Gabon. The meeting signals a mutual desire to bolster bilateral relations, particularly in the strategic digital sector.

During their discussions, Minister Doumba commended Turkey’s consistent engagement with Gabon. He reiterated the Gabonese Government’s commitment, under the leadership of His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, Head of State, to deepen cooperation in key areas, with digital transformation being a prominent focus. The Minister outlined his department’s core missions and priorities, which include the digital modernization of public administration, the expansion of national digital infrastructure, data governance and technological sovereignty, and the crucial training of young digital talents.

In response, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country’s keen interest in supporting Gabon’s digital ambitions. He highlighted several areas where Turkey could provide assistance, such as sharing expertise in e-government, supporting the implementation of electronic signatures in official communications, developing remote payment solutions for public services, and contributing to the installation of telecommunications infrastructure in underserved areas.

Both parties concluded the meeting by agreeing to continue technical exchanges. The aim of these follow-up discussions will be to identify concrete joint projects that can have a significant and positive impact on Gabonese citizens. This high-level engagement marks a new chapter in the strengthening of a structural technological partnership between Gabon and Turkey.
