Pick n Pay Mobile Redefines Convenience with New App and eSIM

Pick n Pay  has significantly upgraded its mobile service, Pick n Pay Mobile, by introducing a new mobile app packed with advanced features. These enhancements include instant eSIM activation and the ability for consumers to self-RICA in minutes, marking a substantial leap in user convenience.

Since becoming the first Retail Mobile Network Operator (MVNO) with MTN in 2020, Pick n Pay Mobile’s latest innovations empower consumers with greater control over their connectivity. Customers can now sign up and activate their mobile number in just minutes, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card or a store visit.

The new app boasts several enhanced features, notably allowing users to create their own mobile plan. This enables them to select the precise amount of data, voice, and SMS they desire each month. These customized plans are valid for 30 days and automatically renew unless cancelled, providing customers with complete control over their spending, free from lock-ins or hidden fees. In a market where digital engagement is paramount and users demand flexibility and value, Pick n Pay Mobile is responding with customer-centric innovations and enhanced loyalty perks.

 

Convenience, Control, and Value in Customer’s Hands

“Customers want easy-to-use and flexible mobile plans that work for them. The new app has been designed to provide an experience that puts convenience, control, and value in the customer’s hands. With the new eSim capability, users can sign up on the go, there is no need for an additional SIM to receive the benefits that Pick n Pay Mobile offers. While the Build Your Own Plan feature is for those who want to manage their own mobile spend with a pre-paid SIM, without the traditional inconvenience of having to do so in person at the till point every month. The bundles have also been supersized to give more data, more airtime, more voice, at more affordable prices.”

The app also simplifies mobile management, allowing customers to top up airtime or data, track usage, and adjust plans seamlessly, all from home. For those who prefer a physical SIM, these remain available in-store.

 

Enhanced Rewards and Long-Term Value

Since its launch in 2020, Pick n Pay Mobile has been popular for its free rewards linked to the Smart Shopper loyalty programme. These rewards have now been significantly enhanced. Pick n Pay Mobile users now automatically earn 1MB of free data, which is instantly rewarded for every R1 spent with Pick n Pay in-store, provided they reload with a minimum of R20 of airtime or data.

The latest update also introduces a new loyalty tier that rewards consistent use of the app. After six consecutive months of use, customers will earn 5% back on their monthly mobile spend, which increases to 10% after nine months. These rewards are in addition to the Smart Shopper free data rewards, offering even greater value. Moodley emphasized:

Strategic Partnership Powers Next-Generation Offering

The initial launch of Pick n Pay Mobile was made possible through a strategic partnership with Huge NXTGN, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Huge Group Limited.
