MTN MoMo Partners with UHOA to Boost Digital Payments in Hospitality Sector

MoMo from MTN Uganda has officially partnered with the Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership aims to transform the hospitality sector by providing seamless, digital financial solutions to the industry. The collaboration is focused on promoting financial inclusion, enabling smart, real-time hotel transactions, and supporting the digitization of the tourism and hospitality landscape in Uganda.
During the MoU signing, Dennis Kakonge, the General Manager of Corporate Services and Company Secretary at MoMo from MTN UG, highlighted the importance of the collaboration.

With this solution, hotel guests can now book rooms and pay securely using mobile money, eliminating the need for cash and enabling convenience, safety, and through this integration, guests can pay from anywhere, and hotels can receive payments instantly and securely. The event was attended by several notable guests, including Juliana Kagwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, Muhwezi Susan, Chairperson of UHOA, members of the UHOA board, representatives from the Uganda Tourism Association, media partners, and the MTN Uganda team, including Stephen Mutana, the Chief Strategy Officer.
