Ghana’s Girls in ICT Program Boosts STEM Ambitions for 100 Top Students

This initiative, adopted by the Ministry from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), aims to empower girls and young women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations , in partnership with ATC, is providing mentorship to 100 top-performing girls from the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions as part of the Girls in ICT program. This initiative, adopted by the Ministry from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), aims to empower girls and young women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The program offers training in a range of essential digital skills, including basic ICT skills, coding, website design, social media and internet safety, game development, and animation development. The goal is to bridge the gender digital gap and encourage girls to take on leadership roles within the tech industry.
