The event forms part of MTN Ghana’s ongoing investment in empowering young women to participate meaningfully in the country’s growing digital economy.

MTN Ghana  welcomed 100 Girls in ICT participants from the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions to MTN House for a day of mentorship, inspiration, and hands-on learning.

Chief Executive Officer Stephen Blewett led the engagement, urging the girls to embrace technology as a pathway to leadership.

“As I always say, the next big thing should come from Africa, and any of you could become the CEO of MTN in the near future. This is the beginning of your digital career. Your creativity, curiosity, and boldness will help define Ghana’s digital future”

– Stephen Blewett, CEO, MTN Ghana

Female leaders from MTN, including Chief Customer Experience Officer Jemima Kotei-Walsh and Chief Enterprise Officer Angela Mensah-Poku, shared personal career journeys and encouraged perseverance. Seven members of MTN’s Women in Technology (WIP) program also offered one-on-one mentorship.

Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Senior Manager for Corporate Communications, reaffirmed MTN’s commitment to closing the digital gender gap, while Gloria Agyei, Senior Manager for Learning and Development, introduced the WIP program and its goals.

The girls participated in sessions on Child Online Protection and Data Management, toured MTN’s Network Monitoring Center, and visited a cell site for real-world exposure to telecom operations.

The event forms part of MTN Ghana’s ongoing investment in empowering young women to participate meaningfully in the country’s growing digital economy.
