Nigerian Startup Chowdeck Raises $9M, Now Serving 1.5 Million Customers across 11 Cities

Chowdeck , a Nigerian food delivery platform, has announced it has raised a $9 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Novastar Ventures, with participation from a number of other investors, including Y Combinator, Palm Drive, AAIC Investment, Rebel Fund, GFR Fund, Kaleo, and HoaQ.
The company, which started just a few years ago, has rapidly grown its customer base to over 1.5 million customers across 11 cities in Nigeria. Chowdeck attributes its success to its homegrown platform, which is designed to meet the specific realities of the local market.
