Standard Bank Joins Home Affairs to Expand Smart ID and Passport Services
This collaboration will significantly expand access to Smart ID and Passport services by making them available at hundreds of additional bank branches, including those in both urban and rural areas across South Africa.

Minister of Home Affairs, Dr. Leon Schreiber, has announced that Standard Bank will be joining the department’s new digital partnership model. This collaboration will significantly expand access to Smart ID and Passport services by making them available at hundreds of additional bank branches, including those in both urban and rural areas across South Africa. The services will also be accessible through the bank’s digital banking applications.
Standard Bank is the third bank to join this initiative. Minister Schreiber is scheduled to visit the bank this week to provide more details on how this partnership will benefit South Africans.
