Nigeria’s Edo State Teams Up with Google on Digital Skills Training for 800 Students

The programme is open to Edo students at home and abroad, with remote options available. A fully equipped Digital Hub in Benin has also been provided for those without laptops. 

The Edo State Government has partnered with Google  to train 800 students in advanced digital skills under the Advanced Job Ready Tech Programme, part of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda.

Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, said the training will cover areas such as data science, visualization, geospatial data, computer vision, natural language processing and machine learning. He noted that participants will also benefit from career fairs, internships and remote job opportunities that can pay in foreign currency.

The programme is open to Edo students at home and abroad, with remote options available. A fully equipped Digital Hub in Benin has also been provided for those without laptops.
